Fraport maintains 2026 outlook despite Iran war and fuel costs

Fraport has maintained its 2026 financial outlook despite disruption from the Iran war and elevated kerosene prices. Third-quarter revenue rose 3.5% year on year to €1.4 billion, while EBITDA increased 0.4% to €595 million, partly supported by a stake sale. Net profit fell nearly a quarter to €263 million. The group expects Frankfurt Airport to handle about as many passengers as in 2025 and continues to forecast EBITDA of up to €1.5 billion and a group result of €300 million to €400 million.

Frankfurt handled 18.6 million passengers in the third quarter, up 0.9% year on year. Traffic for the first nine months was down 0.2%, at 47.5 million. Fraport’s full-year expectation for the German hub remains around 63.2 million passengers, matching the 2025 total.

The group’s international airports provided stronger traffic growth. Across its portfolio, passenger numbers in the first nine months exceeded the 2019 pre-pandemic level. The company’s investor briefing linked weaker Middle East demand partly to the Iran war, while high jet-fuel prices and airline capacity reductions also weighed on Frankfurt operations.

The €300 million to €400 million group-result forecast is below the previous year’s level, in part because of higher depreciation and interest costs following the openings of terminals in Frankfurt and Lima. Fraport nevertheless expects EBITDA to increase from the €1.44 billion recorded in 2025.
