CAE adds PC-24 simulator at Vienna training centre

CAE has expanded its business aviation training centre in Schwechat, near Vienna Airport, with a full-flight simulator for the Pilatus PC-24. The Canadian company is also modifying its Bombardier Global 7500 simulator to support Global 8000 pilot training. The conversion is under way, with no completion date given; CAE expects the resulting device to be the first in Europe configured for the Global 8000.

The centre opened about a year ago with five full-flight simulators. Since September 2025, it has delivered several thousand simulator hours, and its workforce has grown to more than 100 employees and freelancers, including contractors. The 8,000-square-metre facility has capacity for up to nine simulators.

The PC-24 addition broadens the aircraft types available for simulator-based training at the Vienna site. The Global 7500 conversion will enable the same simulator to be used for training on the newer Global 8000, extending the centre’s offering without requiring a separate device for that aircraft.
