Frontier to launch domestic First Class in March 2027

Frontier Airlines will introduce a domestic First Class cabin on 5 March 2027, adding eight larger seats to the first two rows of its aircraft in a four-abreast 2-2 layout. The product, broadly comparable with Business Class in many international markets, will initially focus on additional space rather than an enhanced onboard service, with food and drinks remaining available for purchase.

Fleet retrofits are due to begin in late October and are expected to be completed by March 2027. During the transition, aircraft fitted with the new seats will sell them under Frontier’s existing UpFront Plus designation before the formal First Class launch.

The airline also plans refreshed cabin interiors, in-seat power and Starlink Wi-Fi during 2027. Frontier’s parent company has linked those upgrades with broader investment in first-class seating and enhanced loyalty benefits, including new or improved upgrade opportunities for Frontier Miles members.

The First Class plan was originally targeted for the end of 2025 but was delayed. The new seating will not include complimentary meals or beverages, leaving the primary distinction between First Class and the carrier’s standard cabin as seat size, layout and personal space. No confirmed operating plan for Frontier-branded airport lounges has been published.
