Singapore Airlines to introduce upgraded KrisWorld and Starlink from 2027

Singapore Airlines will progressively introduce an upgraded KrisWorld inflight-entertainment system and Starlink high-speed internet from 2027. The entertainment platform will be installed on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft, as well as future Boeing 777-9 jets. Starlink connectivity will initially cover selected Airbus A380, A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft, supporting streaming, online gaming, web access and work during flights.

The new KrisWorld system will feature cabin-specific 4K touchscreen displays, OLED technology on selected screens, spatial audio and Bluetooth connectivity for passengers’ personal headphones. A redesigned interface will provide clearer menus, larger icons, improved search and filtering, a mini-player and personalised recommendations for passengers logged in with KrisFlyer credentials.

The catalogue will include more than 2,500 films, television programmes, music options and podcasts, with content refreshed monthly. Reported partners include Apple TV, BBC, CNA, HBO Max, iQIYI and Paramount+. The upgrades will not be identical across every seat or aircraft, with the most extensive screen and Bluetooth enhancements concentrated in specific cabin classes.

Singapore Airlines plans to introduce Starlink progressively from early 2027 on 53 aircraft. Complimentary Wi-Fi will remain available to Suites, First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as PPS Club and KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy or Economy on Starlink-equipped aircraft. The programme forms part of an approximately S$1.1 billion cabin-refurbishment effort covering 41 long-haul aircraft.
