StandardAero has completed the transfer of its PT6A operations from Grapevine, Texas, to its primary campus at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The move consolidates the company’s Texas engine-service activities and preserves PT6A heavy-maintenance support for operators, while adding greater capacity, on-site test-cell support and US duty-free import benefits through DFW’s foreign-trade-zone status.
The service will continue with OEM-trained technicians, established technical support and engineering expertise. Returning Grapevine customers were already inducting PT6A engines at DFW when the transition was announced on 20 October.
The consolidation also prepares DFW to introduce full PT6A overhaul capability in 2027. StandardAero vice-president of commercial programmes Joe Capra described the relocation as a continuation of customer support at the new site, rather than a change to the underlying heavy-maintenance offering.
StandardAero is a Pratt & Whitney Canada designated overhaul facility for the PT6A, supporting operators from locations in the United States, Canada, France, South Africa and Australia. The company has not disclosed the precise closure date for the Grapevine site, the numerical increase in capacity or a detailed schedule for the planned 2027 overhaul capability.
