Eurowings and Wizz Air drive Berlin Brandenburg’s winter expansion

Berlin Brandenburg Airport will offer about 140 destinations in 50 countries during its 2026/27 winter timetable, with Eurowings and Wizz Air providing much of the network growth. The schedule, running from 25 October to 27 March, covers around 70 airlines and approximately ten more destinations than the previous winter, despite a significant reduction in Ryanair capacity at the German capital’s main airport.

Eurowings will serve 40 destinations in 17 countries from BER. The airline will add Rome at four weekly flights and Bologna at three from 2 November, while daily Dubai flights begin on 1 November. Jeddah returns twice weekly from 12 November, and Baghdad joins the network on 10 December with weekly service, increasing to twice weekly over the Christmas and New Year period.

The carrier will retain Lisbon, Porto and Bilbao through winter and operate seasonal Edinburgh flights from 4 December to 4 January. Sarajevo returns on 20 December, alongside new Kuusamo service in Finnish Lapland. Frequencies to Rovaniemi and Kittilä will also rise compared with last winter.

Wizz Air will expand to 17 destinations in 13 countries. New services include Vilnius from 26 October, Sarajevo from 3 December, daily Milan Malpensa and three-weekly Pristina flights from 14 December, and three-weekly Suceava service from 17 December. Sofia, launched in September, will operate four times weekly.

The additions come as Ryanair closes its seven-aircraft Berlin base and removes 12 routes, cutting its winter capacity in the city by about half. Eurowings, Wizz Air and easyJet are expanding, but the additional services will not fully replace Ryanair’s lost capacity.
