Alaska Airlines appoints new IT chief for data and AI

Alaska Airlines has appointed Amaresh Siva as its first Chief Information Technology Officer, creating a new role to unite enterprise technology, data, digital strategy, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Siva will join the Seattle-based carrier in November, report directly to chief executive Ben Minicucci and serve on the Executive Committee, with responsibility for technology foundations supporting operational reliability, resilience and long-term growth.

Siva joins Alaska from CVS Health, where he most recently served as Chief Digital and Technology Officer for Health Care Delivery. His responsibilities there included enterprise data and AI platforms, innovation labs, cloud migration, digital engineering and the deployment of AI tools.

The new position brings Alaska’s technology and digital capabilities under a single enterprise leader. Siva will oversee core technology platforms, digital capabilities and scalable data and AI foundations as the airline pursues modernization across its operations and customer-facing systems.

He brings 29 years of experience in digital, data, infrastructure and AI platforms across healthcare, retail and consumer finance. Before CVS Health, he held senior technology positions at Target and GE Capital. Alaska has not disclosed specific projects, investment levels, staffing changes or implementation milestones linked to the appointment.
