Emirates entwickelt barrierefreie Lounge-Suite und Kabinenkonzept

Emirates is developing an accessible lounge suite for passengers with reduced mobility and a cabin-familiarisation concept for passengers who are blind or have low vision. The prototypes were presented at AccessAbilities Expo 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre, alongside biometric boarding gates designed for passengers with accessibility requirements. The lounge suite is initially intended for First Class, with no deployment date or operating location confirmed.

The dedicated quiet area is designed to give passengers a private place to rest and recharge before a flight. Its features include a powered lift recliner with lift, swivel and recline functions, integrated grab bars, wheelchair storage and sufficient transfer space for passengers travelling independently or with a companion. Emirates is also considering the needs of older travellers and other passengers requiring additional comfort, postural support or room to transfer.

The concept builds on the airline’s Lounge Suite product, introduced in its First Class lounges in 2024, which provides private space with features including wireless charging and entertainment screens. Emirates is exploring whether the accessible version could later be adapted for other travel classes.

The cabin-familiarisation concept remains under development and is intended to help blind and low-vision passengers understand the aircraft cabin environment before travelling. The airline has not identified a specific aircraft type or confirmed when either concept will become available to passengers.
