Cirrus Aircraft is expanding its Upper Midwest operations with a 30,000-square-foot addition to its Grand Forks, North Dakota, manufacturing facility and a new 60,000-square-foot warehousing centre in Duluth, Minnesota. The projects support production of the SR Series and Vision Jet, aftermarket services and the company’s growing Upgrades and Accessories business, while adding composite-manufacturing capacity for the TRAC10 flight-training aircraft.
The Grand Forks expansion increases space for composite production and improves the movement of parts through the manufacturing process. The facility produces composite components for Cirrus aircraft and is planned to manufacture composites for the TRAC10, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027. The expanded layout is designed to accommodate current and forecast production rates, with greater scope for automation and equipment integration.
The Duluth warehousing centre consolidates several satellite locations into one operation for receiving, storing, processing and distributing parts. Cirrus began using part of the facility in June and reached full operations in August. The centre supports the company’s manufacturing, product-development and aftermarket activities as its global SR Series and Vision Jet fleet grows. Chief executive Zean Nielsen described the facility as providing additional capacity for production goals, innovation and the Upgrades and Accessories business.
