LATAM to resume nonstop Santiago–Caracas flights

LATAM Airlines Chile will resume nonstop flights between Santiago and Caracas on 3 January 2027, restoring a route it has not operated for more than a decade. The service will run four times a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, linking Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport with Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía and providing a direct connection between the two capitals.

Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight LA644 is scheduled to depart Santiago at 14:30 and arrive in Caracas at 20:10 local time. The return service, LA645, will leave Caracas at 22:30 and reach Santiago at 06:00 the following day.

LATAM expects the route to carry more than 50,000 passengers during its first year. The airline’s distribution information lists the aircraft as an Airbus A320, while other published schedule details identify the type as an A320neo. The service will offer Economy and Premium Economy cabins.

The resumption follows cooperation between Chilean and Venezuelan authorities and the recovery of consular relations between the countries. It will expand nonstop travel options in South America and restore a direct air link that has been absent since LATAM ended its previous service.
