Avinor’s airports handled nearly five million passengers in September, taking the Norwegian operator’s year-to-date traffic above 40 million. Network passenger numbers increased by about 2% in the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, as international travel provided the main growth while domestic demand remained broadly stable.
International passenger traffic rose 3% year on year in September, while domestic traffic was largely unchanged. The network’s January–September total reached approximately 40.9 million passengers.
Oslo Airport processed about 2.6 million passengers during the month, up 1% from September 2025. Bergen Airport handled approximately 661,000 passengers, a 2% increase, while Trondheim and Stavanger recorded about 401,000 and 366,000 passengers respectively. Tromsø Airport handled approximately 228,000 passengers, 3% more than a year earlier.
The figures show that overseas travel continues to lead passenger growth across Avinor’s Norwegian airport network, while the domestic market has yet to deliver a comparable expansion.
