Air Astana is expanding its international network with new scheduled services from Kazakhstan to Salalah in Oman and Tokyo Narita in Japan. Almaty–Salalah flights will begin on 23 October 2026 and Astana–Salalah services on 24 October, both operating weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft. The Almaty–Tokyo route is scheduled to start on 30 November, subject to government approval, using Airbus A321LR aircraft twice weekly.
Salalah will become Air Astana’s first destination in Oman. The Friday service from Almaty and Saturday service from Astana will provide direct links to southern Oman, complementing SalamAir’s existing Almaty–Muscat operation. The routes are expected to support tourism, business, trade and wider economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Oman.
Tokyo will be Air Astana’s first destination in Japan and the 22nd new route introduced by the carrier during 2026. The service is planned under a codeshare arrangement with Japan Airlines, extending the airlines’ existing partnership and providing additional connectivity between Kazakhstan and Japan. The route will also strengthen Almaty’s role as a hub linking Central Asia and the Caucasus with international markets.
