JetBlue has begun daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Barranquilla’s Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport, using Airbus A320 aircraft on the route. The launch expands the carrier’s Colombia network to three active destinations for now, with Barranquilla joining Medellín and Cartagena, while published schedules show departures from Fort Lauderdale at 11:05 a.m. and from Barranquilla at 2:05 p.m.
The new link gives Barranquilla its first direct U.S. service with the airline and further positions Fort Lauderdale as JetBlue’s main Latin America gateway. Introductory fares were published from about $134 one way in Main and $234 in EvenMore, underscoring the commercial focus on both leisure travellers and visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic. JetBlue also plans to add Cali later in October, which would take its Colombia total to four destinations from Fort Lauderdale and deepen its South Florida network in the market.
