EVIO has joined TrueNoord’s New Technology Hub to collaborate on next-generation regional aircraft technologies aimed at cutting emissions, with the work centred on the EVIO 810 hybrid-electric programme from Dorval, Québec. The two companies will assess operating economics including maintenance, financing, leasing and infrastructure, while exchanging technical and market insight.
TrueNoord will contribute regional aircraft market expertise and benchmarking data, while EVIO will provide evolving specifications and operating-cost modelling for the EVIO 810. The Hub is intended as a forum for aircraft developers and other stakeholders to address the commercial and operational issues linked to new aircraft designs.
TrueNoord chief executive Anne-Bart Tieleman welcomed EVIO as the latest member and highlighted the lender’s aim of better understanding the opportunities and challenges hybrid-electric aircraft could create for airlines and lessors. EVIO is developing a family of hybrid-electric regional aircraft designed to improve route economics, reduce noise and emissions, and enhance the passenger experience.
