Jeppesen ForeFlight launches AI agents to help airlines handle disruptions

Jeppesen ForeFlight has launched the first of hundreds of planned AI agents for its Airflow aviation operating intelligence platform, introducing new tools for commercial airlines at an event in Paris. The initial set targets trip trading, crew-schedule optimisation and disruption management, with Augmented Ops Control designed to help operations teams evaluate recovery options in seconds while keeping humans in control.

The system is built to support airline operations centres with faster recovery decisions during irregular operations, a costly and recurring pressure point for carriers. Jeppesen ForeFlight positions the platform as aviation-specific rather than general-purpose, using causal reasoning, visible decision trails and configurable automation levels so operators can choose how much control to retain over each action.

Airlines can use Jeppesen ForeFlight agents, third-party tools or their own agents on the same platform, with customer data remaining sovereign and governance aligned with Safety Management System principles. The company first unveiled Airflow as its agentic AI strategy in July and is now looking for commercial airline partners to co-develop further capabilities before a wider rollout early next year. The launch does not include customer names, pricing or deployment timelines for individual operators.
