Royal Brunei Airlines and SES have completed installation of the RB SkyConnect inflight Wi-Fi system across the carrier’s Airbus A320 fleet, bringing connectivity to all in-service narrowbody aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. The rollout uses SES’s multi-orbit network and electronically steered array antenna technology to keep passengers connected on routes across the airline’s network, including services to China and India.
The deployment is SES’s first APAC airline installation of its latest multi-orbit ESA product. SES expects five additional airlines in the region to adopt the system by the end of 2027, extending a strategy built around GEO and LEO satellite links for continuous service coverage.
Royal Brunei has positioned the upgrade around growing passenger demand for seamless onboard connectivity on its A320 operation. The carrier’s SkyConnect service is already available on selected A320neo flights, and the latest completion expands that offering across the full fleet currently in service.
