Lufthansa Group is reviewing its Jordan services after the European Union Aviation Safety Agency tightened its advisory for Jordanian airspace, telling airlines not to operate there at any altitude. The warning affects planned Amman flights by Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa, including Vienna–Amman and Frankfurt–Amman services.
Austrian Airlines had been due to resume Vienna–Amman operations on 2 October, while Lufthansa planned to restart Frankfurt–Amman flights on 25 October. Lufthansa Group is continuously monitoring the situation in the Middle East and remains in close contact with authorities.
The revised EASA guidance elevates Jordan from a cautionary advisory to a full avoidance recommendation, creating scope for schedule changes, delays or further reassessment of the planned resumptions. No final decision on the Amman programme has been confirmed, and the available material points to an operational review rather than a cancellation. The agency’s update comes amid wider regional airspace risk, with airlines across the Middle East adjusting operations in response to heightened safety concerns.
