Apollo acquires major stake in Atlantic Aviation in deal valuing FBO chain near $10bn

Apollo Global Management has taken a significant stake in Atlantic Aviation from KKR in a strategic partnership that values the fixed-base operator network at nearly $10 billion. KKR remains a substantial shareholder, making the transaction a partial monetisation rather than a full sale, while Atlantic Aviation keeps its position as one of the largest private-aviation infrastructure platforms in the United States.

The deal extends Apollo’s push into business aviation services beyond aircraft ownership and leasing. Atlantic Aviation has expanded sharply under KKR, growing from 69 locations to 105 FBOs, and the higher valuation underscores continued investor interest in private-aviation service assets. KKR bought the company in 2021 for about $4.475 billion, giving the new transaction a markedly richer backdrop.

Financial terms, including Apollo’s exact ownership level and the purchase price, were not disclosed. The structure leaves KKR with ongoing exposure to further growth while bringing in a new long-term partner focused on aviation infrastructure.
