Garmin expands SmartCharts to Canada and Mexico for Premium users

Garmin has expanded SmartCharts for Garmin Pilot Premium subscribers in Canada and Mexico, bringing the dynamic charting tool to Garmin Pilot Web and Apple mobile devices. The update is live in Garmin Pilot version 26.8 and extends a workflow feature first launched in the US and the Bahamas in May 2025.

The latest release adds CDFA path guidance on the vertical profile view for non-precision approaches, cold-weather corrections for selected Canadian and US airports, and climb-gradient information on approach and departure charts. SmartCharts filters terminal procedures to show only the data relevant to a pilot’s selected aircraft and procedure, reducing chart clutter for instrument flying.

Garmin has positioned SmartCharts within its Premium subscription tiers for pilots operating in the US, Canada or Latin America, with a Worldwide option also available. The wider rollout gives Garmin a broader North American footprint for a tool that combines charting, briefing data and performance guidance in one interface.
