Air Europa marks 40 years in Frankfurt and prepares Düsseldorf launch

Air Europa marked its 40th anniversary in Frankfurt as it prepares to add Düsseldorf to its German network from 30 November. The new Madrid-Düsseldorf service will make Düsseldorf the airline’s third destination in Germany, alongside Frankfurt and Munich, and will bring the carrier’s annual Germany schedule to 4,380 flights and nearly 800,000 seats.

The route will operate with two daily frequencies in each direction, adding 1,456 annual flights and more than 270,000 seats. Air Europa has already expanded in 2026 with new services to Oviedo, Seville, Geneva and Johannesburg, underlining a year of network growth from its Madrid-Barajas hub.

The Frankfurt event brought together customers and partners from Germany, where Air Europa has been present since 2014. The Düsseldorf addition also restores a link the airline previously operated and strengthens its short-haul feed into long-haul services through Madrid, particularly across its Latin American network.
