airBaltic has reached its 70 millionth passenger as the Latvian flag carrier celebrates 31 years since its founding on 28 August 1995. The milestone comes as the airline underlines the scale of demand for connectivity in the Baltic region, where it remains a key network carrier from its home market in Latvia.
The figure places airBaltic among the region’s larger aviation operators in cumulative traffic terms and reflects more than three decades of growth in scheduled services across the Baltics and beyond. One report put the average at about 2.26 million passengers a year over the airline’s history.
The passenger milestone coincides with the company’s anniversary and highlights the long operating history behind its current market position. It also comes at a time when Baltic air travel continues to depend heavily on carriers that can provide links to major European destinations from Riga and neighbouring markets.
