WFS wins conditional cargo handling licence at Oslo Airport

Worldwide Flight Services has secured a conditional cargo handling licence at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, giving the SATS-owned operator its first foothold in Norway. The award makes WFS the airport’s third cargo handler and expands capacity for airlines, freight forwarders and cargo owners using the main Norwegian air freight hub.

Avinor framed the move as part of efforts to strengthen supply-chain resilience and support growth in Norway’s import and export traffic. The licence remains conditional, so WFS must still meet the required terms before the award becomes fully effective.

The development adds WFS to an established handling market at Oslo, where cargo volumes are closely tied to the country’s export-oriented sectors and import flows into the capital region. It also broadens the competitive field at an airport that plays a central role in Norwegian air freight operations.
