Avinor improved first-half profit in 2026 as traffic across Norway’s airport network continued to recover, with adjusted operating profit rising by NOK 288 million year on year to NOK 1.1 billion. Operating income reached NOK 7.1 billion, up 8.6% on an adjusted basis, while passenger numbers increased 2.1% to 25.9 million in the six months to the end of June.
International traffic rose 3.6% and domestic traffic increased 1.2%, leaving overseas passengers at 41.5% of the total. Bergen Airport delivered the strongest growth among the larger airports, up 6.9%, while regional airports advanced 4.8% led by Tromsø, Bodø and Harstad/Narvik. Aircraft movements were broadly stable, rising 0.4%, with domestic movements down 0.2% and offshore operations up 8.4%.
Costs continued to climb, however, as operating expenses increased 4.7% to NOK 4.6 billion, driven mainly by wage inflation, general price rises and higher energy costs. The stronger profit performance came despite geopolitical uncertainty and pressure on operating costs.
