Lufthansa is ending its reciprocal duty-travel discount arrangement with Condor, with the change taking effect on 1 September. The decision affects employee business travel booked through myIDTravel and removes discounted travel for staff at both airlines, while private reciprocal travel remains possible.
The arrangement had covered duty travel between Lufthansa and Condor employees, including positioning trips linked to Condor’s Frankfurt operations and other airports. Lufthansa judged the scheme to have become increasingly one-sided and no longer economically reasonable in its previous form. Condor said necessary business trips will still be covered through alternative connections or standard tickets.
Only the duty-travel-ID agreement is changing. Other Lufthansa Group airline arrangements for Condor employees remain in place, and customers are not affected. The move adds another strain to the long-running Lufthansa-Condor relationship and has direct operational relevance for crew positioning and internal mobility, particularly for Condor staff based away from Frankfurt.
