Alliance Aviation Services will appoint Steven Greenway as chief executive on 1 October, bringing in the former flyadeal boss to lead the Australian operator’s FIFO-focused aviation business. He replaces Stewart Tully, who is stepping down after more than a decade with the group and will remain through late October to support an orderly handover.
Greenway most recently ran flyadeal, the low-cost airline arm of Saudi Arabia’s Saudia Group, and has also held senior roles at Qantas, Scoot and SkyEurope. Alliance chairman James Jackson backed the appointment as the company enters its next strategic phase, with the board looking to build on its operational, commercial and cultural base.
The leadership change comes as Alliance continues to centre its business on fly-in, fly-out services for resource clients, a model that has shaped its fleet deployment and commercial positioning. The company has not outlined a broader strategic roadmap, remuneration terms or any changes to the current operating structure alongside the appointment.
