KLM has introduced new youth and student fare options across its network, adding free ticket changes and an extra checked bag for eligible travellers. The offer is aimed at passengers aged 12 to 24 and full-time students aged 18 to 29, with Economy Class the only cabin available under the scheme.
The carrier has set route-specific conditions for the fares, including minimum stay rules and availability limits on some destinations. Cancellations remain subject to fees, reported at 100 euros within Europe and 250 euros on intercontinental trips. The student option includes one additional checked bag of up to 23 kg on top of the standard allowance, while free changes provide more flexibility for travellers booking study trips or leisure journeys during the summer period.
The move places KLM alongside other airlines targeting younger travellers with fare bundles that combine flexibility and baggage benefits. Coverage of the new pricing structure indicates it revives and broadens special student-style fares previously available on selected routes, with the current version extending the concept to both youth and student categories.
