STS Aviation Services has secured UAE General Civil Aviation Authority approval for a CAR-145 C6 equipment rating at its Dubai CommerCity facility in Dubai. The approval, issued under GCAA CAR-145 approval UAE.145.0101, allows the company to carry out approved component maintenance activities in the C6 equipment category and expands its local maintenance capability in the Middle East.
The rating broadens the range of component work STS can perform in Dubai, reducing reliance on sending maintenance elsewhere and strengthening its regional MRO footprint. Paul Curry, vice-president and general manager of STS Aviation Services Middle East, described the approval as an important step for the team and customers, while highlighting the addition of a wider local component maintenance offering.
The development was also reflected in Aviation Week’s rolling MRO updates for August, which identified the same GCAA approval for the Dubai facility. The new authorisation adds to STS Aviation Services’ presence in the UAE at a time when regional operators continue to seek local support for component maintenance and turnaround efficiency.
