ASL Airlines Australia will expand its Boeing 737-800 converted freighter fleet with four additional aircraft, with the first due to arrive in Australia within weeks and the remainder transferred over the following months. The aircraft will move from ASL Aviation Holdings’ existing European fleet to the Australian certificate, supporting cargo operations from Sydney Bankstown across the Australia-New Zealand market.
The airline already operates Boeing 737-800BCFs, and the new aircraft will lift its regional freighter capacity as demand continues to build in trans-Tasman and domestic cargo services. ASL Aviation Holdings is using fleet reallocation to speed up the expansion rather than waiting for external sourcing of aircraft.
Ch-aviation reported that ASL Airlines Australia had a fleet of 10 aircraft, including two Boeing 737-800BCFs, before the expansion. The additional freighters fit into a broader growth strategy for the group in Australia and New Zealand, where cargo flying remains a key part of its network development.
