Turkish Airlines will launch flights from Istanbul to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport on 11 November 2026, adding the Chinese city as its fourth mainland destination after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The route will operate three times a week with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured with 300 seats, including 30 in business class and 270 in economy.
Services are scheduled to depart Istanbul on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with return flights from Chengdu on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The first outbound flight is listed as TK226, leaving Istanbul at 02:05 and arriving in Chengdu at 15:40 local time, while the inaugural return service, TK227, departs Chengdu on 12 November at 00:45 and lands in Istanbul at 05:55.
Booking pages already show Chengdu available for sale, confirming the route is open for reservations ahead of launch. The new link expands Turkish Airlines’ presence in western China and extends its Istanbul hub role across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
