Vueling returns to Barcelona–Madrid route from October

Vueling will resume flights between Barcelona and Madrid on 5 October 2026, returning to one of Spain’s busiest domestic air bridges after a period away from the route. Tickets are already on sale through 29 March 2027, with the service scheduled to operate 10 times a week in October before rising to 11 weekly frequencies from 31 October.

The initial schedule is set at two daily flights from Monday to Thursday, plus one rotation on Friday and Sunday. From the end of October, a Saturday service will be added, extending the timetable for passengers on the business-focused corridor linking Spain’s two largest cities.

The move follows rising demand on the route, particularly from corporate travellers, and fits within Vueling’s wider network strategy under IAG. Barcelona–Madrid remains a key domestic market for same-day travel between two major aviation and commercial centres, making the restart commercially significant for both leisure and business traffic.
