Wizz Air will open a base at Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport in Romania from December 2026, stationing one Airbus A321neo and launching four routes, including a new service to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden. The move gives the carrier its 10th operational base in Romania and expands Brașov’s network to 15 destinations in seven countries.
The initial winter schedule also includes Chișinău, Barcelona and Madrid, adding direct links from central Romania to Moldova and Western Europe. The Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden route is due to start in mid-December, while the broader base opening is timed for December.
Wizz Air will also resume its Brașov–Nuremberg service on 26 October 2026, extending the airport’s network before the winter launch. The Romanian expansion continues the airline’s capacity growth in one of its key Central and Eastern European markets, where it already operates multiple bases and a broad point-to-point network.
