China’s Civil Aviation Administration, together with the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Transport, has published a new five-year roadmap for the country’s civil aviation sector, setting out priorities through 2030. It places the civil aviation industry within the broader policy framework of the Communist Party leadership and the State Council, and links aviation planning to wider national economic and regional development goals.
For airlines, airports, regulators and suppliers, the document acts as the official policy guide for fleet operations, airport renewal, digital transformation and emissions reduction work over the next five years. It also points to tighter oversight of safety and market reform, alongside efforts to build a smarter and more integrated air transport network.
