Turkey’s Baykar Technology is preparing to launch an Istanbul-based air cargo company and has already started recruiting for the operation. The first aircraft planned is an Airbus A321P2F freighter, with the business expected to begin with one jet before expanding later, according to current job postings and industry reporting.
The A321P2F is reported to offer about 28 tonnes of cargo capacity. Baykar’s recruitment drive points to a full airline-style setup covering national and international cargo transport, with openings for pilots, loading and dangerous-goods specialists, operations, safety, quality and continuing airworthiness staff.
The postings also indicate work related to an air operator certificate structure, including flight operations, crew planning, ground operations, CAMO, maintenance organisation and safety and security management. The move would take Baykar beyond its core unmanned aerial vehicle and defence activities into commercial air cargo, broadening the role of one of Türkiye’s best-known aerospace groups. Timing for the launch, the eventual fleet size and any regulatory approvals have not been disclosed.
