Lufthansa Technik Philippines has started construction of a new maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Clark International Airport in Pampanga, expanding its Philippines footprint beyond its long-established Manila base. The widebody-focused site will occupy 157,000 square metres and is scheduled to begin operations in 2028, with about 1,200 jobs expected.
The project is a joint venture involving Lufthansa Technik and MacroAsia Corporation and is designed to add widebody maintenance capacity for airline customers across the Asia-Pacific region. Planned facilities include a paint shop and non-destructive testing workshops, supporting both base maintenance and heavier technical work.
The new complex forms part of Lufthansa Technik’s broader regional strategy as the company increases capacity for global carriers and strengthens Clark’s position as an aviation and aerospace hub. The investment is described as being in the three-digit-million-dollar range, although the exact figure has not been disclosed.
