Lufthansa Technik Philippines has broken ground on a new widebody maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Clark International Airport in the Philippines, expanding its footprint beyond its existing local base. The 157,000-square-metre site will add capacity for Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft and is due to enter service in 2028, with around 1,200 jobs expected.
The project is positioned as a major expansion of the company’s base maintenance capability in Asia-Pacific, where demand for widebody support continues to grow. It will complement Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ current work on the Airbus A330, A340, A380 and Boeing 777, broadening the range of aircraft that can be handled in the country.
The Clark development is a joint venture involving Lufthansa Technik AG and MacroAsia Corporation. Planned infrastructure includes hangars, a paint shop and workshops for non-destructive testing and other MRO functions. The investment is described as a three-digit million-dollar project, making it one of the largest aviation maintenance developments underway in the Philippines.
