Atlas Air lifts SAF use to 3.3 million gallons in 2025 sustainability report

Atlas Air Worldwide increased its sustainable aviation fuel use to 3.3 million gallons in its latest sustainability reporting, about 10 times the 2024 level. Roughly two-thirds of that volume was purchased voluntarily by Atlas and its customers, underscoring growing commercial participation in the carrier’s decarbonisation efforts.

The figure forms part of Atlas’s 2025 sustainability update and reflects a sharp year-on-year increase in SAF uptake rather than a fleet or route change. No airport, aircraft type or individual contract was identified in the available material, which framed the result at corporate level.

The disclosure points to a broader shift in cargo aviation, where SAF demand remains constrained by supply and cost but is increasingly supported by voluntary procurement. For Atlas, the latest total shows faster scaling of fuel-switching efforts and a larger role for customers in financing the transition.
