SolitAir has launched cargo services between Dubai World Central and Bucharest’s Otopeni International Airport, adding the Romanian capital as its second European Union destination. The UAE-based B2B airport-to-airport carrier is using the route to link its DWC hub with a 19 million-strong market and extend connections across its Middle East, Africa and Asia network into the EU single market.
The Bucharest service follows the airline’s first EU route to Sofia and comes after SolitAir secured ACC3 designation from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority, enabling carriage of cargo and mail into the EU and EEA under European aviation security rules. The airline also holds a UAE GCAA air operator certificate and EASA third-country operator authorisation, which support its regulated expansion into Europe.
Bucharest gives SolitAir another foothold in a region where it is building an airport-to-airport freighter corridor from Dubai. The route adds to a rapid European push and broadens the carrier’s network reach into Southeast and Central Europe, although frequency, aircraft type and payload were not disclosed.
