Argentina’s aviation regulator ANAC has approved Flybondi’s recovery plan, allowing the low-cost carrier to keep operating and selling tickets after weeks of disruption that triggered more than 120 cancellations in June and July. The decision gives the airline a short-term reprieve as it works through operational problems affecting its domestic network and regional business.
ANAC required the airline to submit an action plan after repeated cancellations and closely monitored its schedule and aircraft availability before giving the green light. The regulator determined that Flybondi currently meets safety requirements and, under Argentine rules, did not move to a precautionary suspension.
The airline’s continued operation avoids an immediate shutdown of services, but it remains under regulatory scrutiny. Brazilian authorities have also separately moved to curb ticket sales on some routes to Brazil because of the carrier’s cancellation record, underlining the wider commercial strain created by the disruption.
