Iberia to add third daily Madrid-Menorca flight for winter season

Iberia Group will operate three daily flights between Madrid and Menorca from November through March after winning the Spanish transport ministry’s public service obligation tender for the route. The winter schedule will lift capacity on the Madrid–Mahón service by 27% compared with the previous contract, strengthening the island’s air links during the low-demand season.

The expanded programme covers Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum under the group’s winter operation. Two fixed daily rotations are scheduled from Madrid at 11:35 and 20:15, with a third frequency varying by day; return flights from Mahón are listed at 07:00 and 13:45, plus a variable extra service. The route’s OSP framework is intended to maintain continuity on an essential domestic connection and support onward travel through Madrid’s wider network.

The increase comes as Spanish domestic island routes continue to rely on regulated service commitments to preserve connectivity outside the summer peak. For Menorca, the extra winter capacity should improve access for residents and visitors while offering more flexibility for connections via Iberia’s Madrid hub.
