Daher has secured an early Brazilian customer for its TBM 980 after entrepreneur Cesar Augusto Olsen chose the turboprop for business travel across Brazil. The handover, expected later this year, was marked at LABACE 2026 in São Paulo, where Olsen is upgrading from a TBM 850 to the newer model.
Olsen founded Olsen Indústria e Comércio S/A, which makes dental, medical and veterinary equipment and exports to more than 100 countries. The company’s aviation needs reflect a regional travel profile, with the TBM 980 positioned for fast, efficient point-to-point flying. Daher introduced the model in January and had delivered more than 30 aircraft worldwide by the time of the announcement.
Michel Adam de Villiers, Daher’s vice-president for sales, described the upgrade as a strong endorsement of the TBM 980’s value proposition. A separate Brazilian media report described the aircraft as the first TBM 980 delivered in Brazil and linked it to travel between ranches and farms, but Daher’s own disclosure identifies the transaction as a pending delivery rather than a completed handover.
