Daher has delivered the first TBM 980 to a Brazilian customer, introducing its newest TBM variant to one of the world’s key business aviation markets. The six-seat single-engine turboprop went to a Brazilian entrepreneur who is upgrading from a TBM 900 and will use the aircraft to travel between cattle ranches and farms across the country.
The aircraft is expected to operate from semi-prepared runways, a mission profile that matches the TBM family’s emphasis on rugged regional access. Daher highlighted the TBM 980’s third-generation Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics as a central factor in the buyer’s decision, alongside the aircraft’s speed, efficiency and operational flexibility.
The handover is the first Brazilian customer delivery for the TBM 980 and follows ANAC certification earlier in the year, which cleared the model for operations in the market. It also extends the TBM line’s presence in Latin America, where private operators continue to favour high-performance turboprops for point-to-point travel outside major hubs.
