Russia’s government said on 2026-07-30 that financing has been secured for production of 18 MC-21 aircraft at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant and that RUB 2.6 billion will be allocated to complete the first three serial Il-114-300 turboprops. The announcement was made at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and underlines continued state support for domestic civil aircraft production.
The government said the additional support is intended to prevent stoppages on the production line and to help meet the planned order through 2035. The MC-21 programme is linked to Yakovlev and the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, while the Il-114-300 is part of the Ilyushin, UAC and Rostec civil aviation programme.
The Il-114-300 funding is for this year and relates to the first three serial aircraft intended for Arkhangelsk Aviation Enterprise. The government also said it is preparing preferential lending for airlines and leasing companies buying Russian aircraft, alongside further support for priority aviation projects.
The announcement is part of wider state backing for the aviation sector, with more than RUB 250 billion due to be spent in 2026, including support for more than 70 aircraft and over 70 Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters. The government has also linked the financing measures to efforts to sustain domestic aircraft manufacturing under sanctions and supply-chain constraints.
