SES said on 2026-07-29 that LATAM Airlines has selected it to provide multi-orbit inflight connectivity for more than 60 Airbus and Embraer aircraft over the coming years. The agreement covers Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321XLR and Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and extends a long-running partnership between the two companies, with SES describing LATAM as the largest airline in the region to adopt this SES multi-orbit ESA-based service.[1]
SES said the system combines its multi-orbit network with a new electronically steered array antenna that it says is under seven centimetres tall. The company added that it has partnered with LATAM for nearly a decade and currently provides Wi-Fi on more than 250 LATAM aircraft in the region, including 2Ku service on more than 200 A320-family jets.[1]
The announcement was issued from Luxembourg and covers a connectivity rollout across LATAM’s narrowbody and regional jet fleet rather than a route launch or aircraft delivery.[1] SES said the aircraft will be equipped over the coming years, but the official release did not disclose the commercial value of the deal or a detailed installation schedule.[1]
A secondary report said the first Embraer E195-E2 installations are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first A321XLR aircraft are expected to enter service in 2027, but those timing details were not included in the official announcement.[2]
