Textron Aviation jet deliveries fall as turboprops rise in Q2

Textron Aviation posted a mixed second quarter as jet deliveries fell while commercial turboprops climbed, but revenue still edged higher and backlog held at about $8.0 billion. The unit delivered 40 jets, down from 49 a year earlier, and 44 commercial turboprops, up from 34, as weaker Citation volume offset gains in the turboprop line. Aviation revenue rose 1% to about $1.5 billion on higher aircraft pricing and aftermarket parts and services, while segment profit improved. The results point to softer jet throughput, but steadier demand and better mix across the Wichita operation.
