Singapore Airlines Group slid to a S$76 million first-quarter loss as a S$991 million jump in net fuel costs and deeper Air India losses overwhelmed record revenue of S$5.714 billion. Revenue rose 19.3% in the April to June period, but total expenditure climbed 27.9% to S$5.609 billion, cutting operating profit to S$106 million and exposing how fast Middle East-linked fuel spikes can erase yield and traffic gains. The group said net fuel costs reached S$2.253 billion, turning a strong demand environment into its first quarterly deficit since 2022.
