Airbus Helicopters has opened a UK training academy in Farnborough to consolidate pilot, engineering and leadership training for the rotary-wing market. The 12,000-square-metre facility is designed as a one-stop shop for technical instruction, with capacity for more than 400 pilots, technicians and aerospace leaders a year, and it is the only UK site able to deliver an Airbus Helicopters Part 147-approved B2 type course. The move targets the sector’s skills gap while giving operators a single hub for type training, advanced engineering tuition and fleet support across the UK rotary-wing base.
