Japan Airlines has joined ANA Holdings, Japan Airport Terminal, Narita International Airport, Chubu Centrair International Airport, the International Organization for Migration and IATA in a new aviation initiative aimed at preventing human trafficking through air travel.
The programme was announced on 27 July and brings together airlines, airport operators and international organisations in a coordinated effort across Japan’s main gateways, including Haneda, Narita and Chubu Centrair. JAL and ANA will hold their first joint training session on 28 July, while the wider awareness campaign runs through the end of August.
The timing is linked to the UN World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on 30 July. The 2026 campaign expands beyond Narita, where a similar awareness effort was run last year, and will use digital signage in terminal areas to support both staff vigilance and passenger awareness.
