Corsica Technics Signs LOI for 10 Kepplair 72 ATR 72 Firefighting Conversion Kits

Corsica Technics has signed a letter of intent to acquire 10 Kepplair 72 conversion kits, marking the largest single-operator commitment for the ATR 72-based aerial firefighting program to date[1][2]. The Bastia-based MRO will convert passenger or cargo ATR 72s into multi-role waterbombers using the KEDS delivery system, developed by IMFT and Trotter Controls[2][6]. This LOI brings total program commitments to 18 aircraft or kits, accelerating Kepplair Evolution toward prototype delivery expected this summer and initial drop tests by end of 2026[1][3]. Aerotec & Concept will perform modifications and pursue EASA STC certification in 2027, with first deliveries targeted for H2 2027[6][8]. The LOI is not a firm order; final conversion contracts and pricing remain undisclosed[1][4].
