Chinese Airlines Order 95 Airbus Aircraft Worth $17.8 Billion

Chinese carriers Air China, Shenzhen Airlines, and Hainan Airlines have placed a combined order for 95 Airbus aircraft with a list price of $17.8 billion, announced 17 July 2026 via Shanghai Stock Exchange filings. Air China and Shenzhen Airlines secured 55 jets—15 A350-900s for 2030–2032 EIS and 40 A320neos for 2029–2032—while Hainan Airlines ordered 40 A320neos. The deal, pending shareholder and regulatory approval, delivers significant widebody volume ahead of the Farnborough Airshow and reinforces Airbus’s position in China’s fuel-efficient fleet modernization strategy, though actual transaction value remains undisclosed due to significant discounts.
