Embraer Delivers First C-390 Millennium to Czech Air Force 20 Months After Contract

Embraer officially handed over the first C-390 Millennium to the Czech Air Force on 16 July 2026 at Prague-Kbely Air Base, completing delivery just 20 months after the 25 October 2024 contract signing. The aircraft, designated KCV-390 locally, arrived in Czechia on 6 July 2026 following its maiden flight on 25 May 2026 and 14-hour ferry from Gavião Peixoto. The CZK 11.3 billion (~$533 million) contract covers two units, with the second scheduled for December 2027 and full operational capability by 2028. Czechia becomes the fourth C-390 operator, gaining 26-tonne payload capacity, hose-and-drogue air-to-air refueling for Gripens, MAFFS II firefighting, and MEDEVAC modules. This rapid cycle validates Embraer’s production agility in the global tactical airlift sector.
